Global Defence Services Ltd (GDS) is a newly incorporated Private Security Company, with its headquarters at PO Box 23 Magnolia, Texas 77353, United States of America, with world-wide connections and agents. A leading medium sized international security, investigation and risk Management Company. GDS can provide international clients in governmental, private and public sectors with specialist investigative, security services and comprehensive risk management solutions that are both appropriate to the clients’ needs and commensurate with the ever evolving threats and technology advances in today’s world, they may encounter.

GDS Management are seasoned and highly trained with over 40years of combined experience and global resources, which allows GDS Management to operate globally; GDS has established an unrivalled network of highly trained specialists throughout the world.

Sajed Ali Shamsudeen a third generation Landed Proprietor with a vast portfolio of iconic Trophy Grade ‘A’ Commercial Office Developments in the Central Business District (CBD) of Colombo rented to International Banks and Sri Lankan Government.

An allied enterprise, classified as Representatives and Facilitators of European and North American based manufacturers, and producers of Specialised Solutions in the of Sports, Agriculture, Law Enforcement, Defence, Security, Engineering & Communications.

Functioning as the interface of international trade procedures to Governments and authorised private end users in the Asia Pacific Region.

His acumen of almost three decades in these areas would indeed steer Global Defence Services to achieve paramount rating in the sector.

David Tomlinson

About

David Tomlinson is a recognised expert in all aspects of Close Protection, he is a seasoned and highly trained operative. In 1986 David was trained in Close Quarter battle by former UK SAS trainers and in 1994 Executive Protection, in the USA at Vance International, Inc.

A company of former Secret Service practitioners who are well versed in the latest security best practices and their training is based on methodologies derived from U.S. Secret Service doctrine. Which is to keep executives and at-risk individuals out of harm’s way, recognise, analyse and neutralise risks before they become a problem. David has significant operational experience throughout Europe, the Middle East, and former Soviet countries, Asia, Africa and South America.

He has planned and led security operations for Diplomatic, Corporate and Private Client’s over the last twenty six years. He played a key role in the Security Planning for the International Heads of Government Summit in Dakar, Senegal and manages a growing number of Protection Teams on long and short term assignments in both safe & hostile environments.

Michael Ranger

Americas Theatre Director, Michael Ranger is a world renown weapons expert who has been in the defence industry at many levels for over 40 years and during that time has done business with and visited over 160 countries worldwide. He in particular also has a comprehensive knowledge of small arms and ammunition and gunsmithing. He was a certified combat handgun instructor to the UK Practical Pistol Association and passed the Special Forces Advanced Handgun course.

He has also ran two private security companies and also visited Iraq in 2004 and Afghanistan in 2009 in connection with gunsmithing and weapon handling. His extensive travels have left him with an unsurpassed knowledge of weapons likely to be encountered around the globe and the corresponding threat levels that may be faced.

Ian McCleary

Ian McCleary is a highly professional and competent Close Protection Officer and Security Manager, with the ability to communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups on their level to achieve best results in varying circumstances.

An individual who is extremely capable of working on his own or as a member of a team with excellent leadership qualities, who implements’ protocol to the highest level. Ian has worked in Saudi Arabia and Israel and he is qualified and recognised in maritime security.

Consultants and agents

Global Defence Services employs behind the scenes a network of consultants, agents and advisors with years of experience from the defence industry, Police and former UK special forces that give the company unparalleled expertise in all matters of security. These people cannot be named due to the sensitivity of their former employment., but be assured that Global Defence Services can fulfil and exceed your security requirements, no matter what they may be or what the risk is you need guarding against, be it static guards for prominent buildings and organisation to close protection for the most well-known or at risk dignitaries.

Security Personnel / Gurkhas

Our security personnel are mostly former Gurkha soldiers from the world renowned army in Nepal who are known the world over for their fighting skills and utmost loyalty. They, above all others on Earth, are trained to, and always will, fight to the death.

Pre-employment Screening

GDS employees are interviewed and are required to provide evidence of good health, physical fitness for the role, together with a certificate from a medical practitioner that they are:

Not being treated for any mental instability including post traumatic stress disorder.
Evidence they are free of substance abuse
Provide Certificate of No Criminal Conviction.

Threat Awareness

International staff undertakes additional contract specific briefings/training:

Threat and security risk assessment – briefing on local and global terrorist groupings, methods of operation, tactics, affiliations and intent.
Incident analysis – study of security related incidents and patterns of occurrence in the last 24 months.
Local topography and terrain, familiarisation and awareness by day and night to include routes and driving.

Indigenous Staff

In all countries where GDS may be requested to operate employing local staff GDS will on most occasions have an experienced Agent, with experience of training within the military or law enforcement agencies of that country.

In all countries, female staff are encouraged to apply for those positions which are culturally acceptable.
